Our project brings together in a single strategic master plan the useful and necessary interventions for the redevelopment of the Vieste waterfront. The objective is to increase both its architectural and landscape value, revitalizing the coastal stretches with the introduction of functions, thematic routes and services. Readapting mobility to the needs of public and sustainable use.

The design approach aims to create meeting places, points of reference, discontinuities along the coast, in order to fertilize the "outskirts" of the city, creating places of complex life. To this end we focused on public access to the sea. Here the public space created will project towards the beach, creating functional, thematic and natural Oases. Real squares by the sea, immersed in the natural marine landscape.

Our design proposal, in fact, aims to mend the wounds of the landscape, using tools specific to contemporary architecture and naturalistic engineering. The design of the new coastline is in fact the result of a work of "mending" between the city and the seascape. The almost undulating pace of the new coastline aims to bring the two identities together in a single body, overcoming the barriers represented by the dividing walls that currently mark the border between the urbanized area and the beach. The reconstruction of the dune habitat therefore becomes a fundamental action to preserve the original appearance of the beach and return to the city a marine garden, worthy of the Gargano landscape.

The redevelopment intervention thus conceived improves the image of the city as a whole. Increasing its seaside tourist connotation in the summer months, and donating new flexible public spaces for potential development and seasonally adjusted use
